The Purpose of She Walks Canada is to:
- Engage and empower women changing their relationship with alcohol
- Celebrate women who are thriving in the freedom and joy of choice
- Raise awareness for the variety of recovery and support options available
- Provide online virtual support conversations for women in active recovery, are sober curious or thinking about changing their drinking habits
- Build a strong support community within She Walks Canada
- Raise money to further develop She Walks Canada resources

Meet Lindsay
FOUNDER OF SHE WALKS CANADA
Lindsay Sutherland Boal is a force for positive change wielding her knowledge and expertise of sober living initiatives and women issues. In 2021, Lindsay founded She Walks Canada—a movement to engage and empower sober and sober-curious women changing their relationship with alcohol. In its first year, She Walks Canada impacted over 700 women transitioning away from alcohol, and as a community, met and exceeded the cross-Canada walking goal of 7,315 kms (4545 miles) over 3 times—22,267 kms (13,836 miles). The 2023 Walk around the globe invites women everywhere and begins March 6, 2023.
As a personal empowerment coach, Lindsay is set to revolutionize the way in which individuals confront their own barriers with her innovative “Uncovery Method.” Her program will soon be accessible online—with options for self-guided or mentored courses—offering anyone an opportunity to free themselves from stagnation and claim control of their journey towards success.
Additionally, Lindsay is an executive at Urban Outline Building Group; an athlete; mother; wife; friend; sister; mentor; public speaker; former podcast host and producer of The COVID Chronicles Canada; professional opera singer; and actor on stage and television. Lindsay is a graduate of the Jay Shetty Certification School, Brandon University, the Vancouver Academy of Music, Toronto Film School, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She has also completed sessional studies at the University of Manitoba; the Cabaret Conference at Yale University; the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar in Germany; the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in the Czech Republic; the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada; and others.
Lindsay is the recipient of over 15 awards, most recently as “Distinguished Alumni” at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She has been featured across numerous print channels as well major networks, leading conversations that impact women everywhere.

WHAT HAPPENED IN OUR 1ST YEAR
Between January 24 and July 26, 2022, our community came together to share their experiences, challenges, and successes. Together, we tripled our original 7,315 km cross-Canada goal, along with achieving:
- National and regional televised news coverage; national and local print media coverage; magazine articles; podcasts in US and Canada
- Over 7,000 social media followers
- Helped over 600 women in their journey to alcohol-free or alcohol-reduced living
- Facilitation of 231 Virtual Conversations on Zoom with over 650 participants from all 10 Canadian provinces and territories, and 5 more countries, in both English and French
- Raising over $30,000 to continue developing tools and resources to assist women in their journey to sobriety
